The RolePosition: Estimator Location: Stirling, Central Scotland Hours: 37.5 hours per week, MondayFridayKey ResponsibilitiesReview Tender Documents:Analyse architectural drawings, specifications, and client requirements to understand project scope.Take-offs and Measurements:Perform detailed take-offsCost Calculation:Calculate total project costs, including material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor expenses.Supplier Liaison:Obtain competitive pricing from suppliers and manufacturers.Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and internal teams to gather project information and clarify specificationsProposal Submission:Prepare and submit detailed tenders and bids within strict deadlines.Value Engineering:Propose alternative, more cost-effective materials or methods to improve tender competitiveness.Project Handover:Collaborate with project managers to ensure a smooth transition from winning the bid to on-site execution.Manage the estimation and tendering process, maintaining clear communication and meeting submission deadlinesUse estimation software and tools to produce professional, detailed quotationsMaintain accurate records of estimates, quotes, and project dataRequired Skills and QualificationsExperience:Proven experience in estimating for interior fit-out projects (ceilings, dry lining, partitions).Technical Knowledge:Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, and technical specifications.Software Proficiency:Skilled in MS Excel and dedicated estimating or take-off software.Commercial Awareness:Understanding of market rates, material costs, and industry trends.Attention to Detail:High level of accuracy in measurement and calculation to prevent budget overruns.Communication:Ability to liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teamsTypical QualificationsBackground in similar role withinthe constructionindustry or extensive on-site experience as an interiorfixer/installer.Valid industry qualifications SalaryCompetitive salary based on experience plus benefits.
