Job Description BUILDING SERVICES ENGINEERClerk of Works | Building Services | M&E | Site Inspection40 per hour via Umbrella | Initial 12-Month ContractCan be based in Stevenage or Portsmouth with regular travel between the two35 Hours per Week SC Clearance RequiredABOUT THE CLIENTOur client is a global leader in aerospace, defence and advanced engineering, delivering complex infrastructure and technical projects across critical environments.They are seeking an experienced Building Services & Fabric Clerk of Works to oversee quality assurance across multiple sites, ensuring all mechanical, electrical and building fabric installations meet the highest standards of compliance and workmanship.THE CLERK OF WORKS ROLEAs a Building Services & Fabric Clerk of Works, you will act as the eyes and ears on-site, ensuring that all building services installations are delivered in line with design specifications, regulatory standards and best practice.You will conduct detailed inspections across mechanical, electrical and fabric works, identifying defects and ensuring issues are resolved efficiently. You will work closely with project managers, contractors and stakeholders to maintain quality and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate documentation, producing reports, and ensuring all handover documentation is complete and to the required standard.ESSENTIAL SKILLSProven experience as a Clerk of Works, Site Inspector or similar roleStrong background in building services (M&E) and building fabric installationsExperience within construction site management and quality assuranceStrong understanding of Building Regulations, British Standards and Health & Safety legislationAbility to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawingsExperience identifying and resolving defects and non-conformancesStrong reporting and documentation skillsExcellent stakeholder communication skillsProficient with relevant tools/software (e.g. AutoCAD, reporting tools)Full UK driving licenceActive SC clearanceDESIRABLEMembership with Institute of Clerks of Works and Construction Inspectorate (ICWCI)Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSHTO BE CONSIDEREDPlease either apply via this advert or email your CV directly to [email protected].
