Radio Frequency Design Team Lead

A fabulous opportunity to join a key defence engineering organisation seeking a Team Lead for its RF and Antenna design team. This role requires both strong technical expertise in RF design and the ability to provide day-to-day leadership to a high-performing engineering group. You will help deliver some of the most technically involved projects in the UK defence sector.About the RoleYou will work within the Electronic Engineering function, supporting RF and antenna design activities and leading work packages. The role involves guiding both technical direction and team performance, working closely with other team leads, group leads and technical specialists. There are strong career pathways available in both technical leadership and people managementResponsibilitiesProven experience leading and delivering complex RF design packagesStrong people leadership skills and the ability to motivate high-performing teamsPractical RF design experience across a wide frequency range (around 30 MHz to 30 GHz), including LNAs, high-power amplifiers, filters, oscillators, synthesisers and modulatorsGood understanding of digital, analogue and power supply designExperience using RF and antenna design tools such as Microwave Office and HFSSStrong understanding of radio transceiver system architectureFamiliarity with manufacturing techniques, design for manufacture and design for testExperience in project management and planning (Excel, P6 or MS Project beneficial)Ability to collaborate effectively across a multi-disciplinary organisationRequired SkillsExperience in RF design and leadershipExperience in project management and planning tools.The organisation promotes an inclusive and supportive working environment and welcomes applicants from all backgrounds.
