Transport Planner

Streamline Recruitment have partnered with a global logistics company to recruit a Transport Planner to join their friendly growing team in Stanford-Le-Hope. This is a hands-on role where youll manage a local distribution fleet, plan routes, coordinate with hauliers, and oversee fleet administration. There is excellent potential for career progression, including the opportunity to take on a leadership role in the future. You will be responsible for a fleet of 1520 vehicles, ranging from 7.5t-Class 2 and some Class 1, planning multidrop routes across London and the Southeast. You will act as a key point of contact for drivers and customers, handling enquiries, updates, delays, issues, and traffic updates. Key Responsibilities: Ensure planning is efficient, cost-effective, and reduces downtime using planning tools and geographical knowledge Plan daily routes and manage a mixed fleet of vehicles, including subcontractors and pallet network collections/deliveries Keep TMS systems up to date and monitor vehicle locations, including tracking driver performance Negotiate competitive transport rates with external hauliers Ensure paperwork is completed and accurately recorded in systems Manage vehicle damages in line with company policy to minimise downtime Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, drivers, and internal/external partners Experience Required: Proven experience in transport planning and multidrop operations Strong organisational and communication skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and work under pressure Hours: MondayFriday, 10:0019:00 Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience If you are an experienced Transport Planner looking for your next challenge, please apply today!
