Geotechnical Site Technicians / Dynamic Sample Drillers DescriptionDepartment:FieldworkLocation:StamfordContract:PermanentSalary:£25,000 - £35,000 per year (dependant on experience)Location (office):Central office near Stamford, LincolnshireAbout Us AF Howland Associates Limited (AFHA) is a well-established geotechnical and geo-environmental consultancy with offices across England. Our head office is in Norwich, Norfolk with a subsidiary office in Long Melford, Suffolk. We are opening new offices in Romford (London) and our Central office near Stamford, Lincolnshire this year, operating nationally on infrastructure, utilities frameworks, and developments across the UK.We specialise in providing data for engineering design and construction from initial ground investigation through to reviewing ground parameters for schemes. This includes installing high quality geotechnical and environmental instrumentation, ground gas and water quality assessments, and trenchless construction expertise. We have developed our own software (GEODASY) for geotechnical data processing.AFHA joined the Celnor Group in December 2023 and benefits from Group support and interaction with other businesses offering inspection, testing, certification and compliance services.About the Role Vacancies have become available within our fieldwork team in our Central office near Stamford Lincolnshire. We are seeking highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals forGeotechnical Site TechniciansandDynamic Sampling/Window Sampling Drillers .The successful candidates will undertake a diverse range of site-based in-situ testing. It is expected that you would have general site experience (CSCS) and demonstrate aptitude for learning new field test procedures and some office duties.The role is diverse and requires an interest in geotechnical fieldwork. Fieldwork will involve lone working; reliability, trustworthiness, and the ability to self-manage are essential.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake a diverse range of site-based in-situ testingConduct Plate Load TestsPerform CBR determinations using various equipmentCarry out groundwater sampling and gas monitoringPerform soakaway/infiltration testingOperate dynamic sampling/probing using a mini tracked drilling rigDemonstrate aptitude for learning new field test procedures and some office dutiesWork with a high degree of reliability and trustworthiness during lone workingSelf-manage workload and maintain pride in work qualityAssist with other aspects of the business as requiredSkills, Knowledge and Expertise Essential Requirements:General site experience with CSCS certificationDemonstrable aptitude for learning new field test proceduresHigh degree of reliability and trustworthinessAbility to self-manageInterest in geotechnical fieldworkDesirable:Prior experience with in-situ soil testingLevel 2 NVQ in land drillingAbility to tow a trailer (B+E licence)Salary and Benefits We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £35,000 depending upon experience and provide benefits including:Professional development opportunities30 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)Life AssuranceContributory Pension (company matches employee contributions up to 5%)Additional training where necessaryAF Howland Associates Limited is an equal opportunities employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.To apply, please submit your CV and a covering letter explaining why you're the right fit for this role.#J-18808-Ljbffr
