Location:Bostik StaffordReporting Line:Reports directly to the UK Operations ManagerWorking Hours:Full-Time | Permanent | 38 Hours per weekMonday to Thursday: 08:00 – 16:45Friday: 08:00 – 15:45About the Role:We’re seeking a highly motivated Production Manager to lead our Solvent Adhesives department at our Stafford site. With responsibility for a team of 30 and an operating budget of €1.5 million, this role is pivotal in ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production within a complex chemical manufacturing environment.You’ll be accountable for delivering operational excellence, driving continuous improvement, and fostering a strong safety culture. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strategic thinking, strong team development skills, and cross-functional collaboration.Key Responsibilities:Safety & CultureChampion health, safety, and environmental standards across all operationsLead cultural and behavioural change initiatives to embed safety-first thinkingProduction ManagementOrganise and oversee daily production activities to meet quality, cost, and delivery targetsManage production schedules and optimise resource allocationMonitor performance metrics and implement improvements to maximise throughput and asset efficiencyTeam LeadershipLead, coach, and develop a team of 30 staffEnsure training and compliance with HSE, quality, and operational proceduresMaintain visibility on the shop floor and engage regularly with staff and contractorsProcess & Systems ImprovementIdentify and implement continuous improvement opportunitiesMinimise waste and enhance process reliabilityCoordinate with purchasing, logistics, and maintenance to ensure smooth operationsCompliance & ReportingEnsure adherence to environmental, health, safety, and quality regulationsMaintain accurate documentation and reporting for audits and internal reviewsSupport CAPEX planning and manage minor projectsQualifications & Experience:Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (with strong chemical industry experience)Minimum 5 years’ experience in production management, ideally within a chemical plantNEBOSH Certificate or strong understanding of HSE regulations preferredProven leadership in manufacturing environmentsStrong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skillsFluent in English and willing to travel as requiredKey Metrics & Accountabilities:Safety performanceProduct quality and customer service levelsOverall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and asset utilisationCost control and budget adherenceAchievement of production planning targets
