Job Description OurclientisseekingaGeneralEngineeringWorkshopTechnician/Engineertosupporttheinspection,repair,refurbishment,maintenanceandupgradeofawiderangeofmechanicalandelectricalequipmentwithinaheavyengineeringworkshopenvironment.Thisroleisidealforanengineerwithastrongmechanicalbackgroundwhoenjoysfaultfinding,hands-onrepairworkandworkingacrossvariedandcomplexequipment.YouwillbepartofaspecialistteamprovidingSubjectMatterExpertise(SME)acrossGroundSupportEquipment(GSE),developingengineeringsolutionstoensureequipmentismaintained,refurbishedandreturnedtoserviceinlinewithdefinedtechnicalandqualitystandards.KeyResponsibilitiesCarryoutself-directedtesting,diagnostics,repair,maintenance,modification,calibrationandmanufactureofequipmentdowntomoduleandindividualcomponentlevelusingapprovedengineeringdocumentation.Performplannedandad-hocadvancedrepairsusingApprovedSourceInformation(ASI)orOEMtechnicaldata.Survey,refurbishandmaintainGroundSupportEquipment(GSE)torequiredstandards.Holdself-certification,over-signing,certifyingandconditioningresponsibilities,includingserviceable,unserviceableandscrapstatus.Supervise,trainandover-signworkcompletedbyjuniorstaff,equivalentgradesandapprentices.Supportfeasibilityanddevelopmentactivities,includingreverseengineeringandthecreationofengineeringdocumentationandtestprocedures.Providespecialisttechnicaladviceasrequired.UsearangeofengineeringandbusinessITsystems.Workwithinestablishedengineeringgovernanceframeworks,ensuringcompliancewithpolicies,proceduresandlegislation.Supporttheresolutionofurgentoperationalrequirements,particularlywhereOEMsupportisunavailable.Worktoagreedschedules,budgetsandqualitystandardswhilemaintainingastrongfocusonsafety.PersonSpecificationEssentialSkills&ExperiencePreviousexperienceinscheduledmaintenanceandrepairwithinanengineeringorworkshopenvironment.EligibilitytomeetthecriteriaforprofessionalregistrationasEngTechinlinewithUK-SPEC.Oneofthefollowingqualificationroutes:Level4engineeringqualificationwithanadvancedorhigherapprenticeship,orLevel3engineeringqualification,anationallyrecognisedapprenticeship,plusrelevantengineeringexperience.JBRP1_UKTJ
