?? Overview A Working Foreman leads a small to mid-sized crew, coordinates daily site activities, and participates directly in the work. Unlike a purely supervisory foreman, this role involves both leadership and manual labor. ?? Typical Duties Hands-on work: Performs trade tasks (e.g., carpentry, concrete, framing, plumbing, etc.) alongside crew members. Crew supervision: Assigns tasks, monitors productivity, trains workers, and ensures proper workmanship. Scheduling & coordination: Plans daily work sequences, ensures materials and equipment are available, and reports progress to project managers or directors. Safety enforcement: Conducts toolbox talks, checks PPE compliance, enforces site safety regulations, and reports incidents. Quality control: Inspects completed work for accuracy and adherence to drawings/specs. Communication: Acts as the link between site workers and management, relaying instructions, updates, and changes. Documentation: Completes daily logs, timesheets, and simple reports (e.g., quantities, progress notes). ?? Key Skills & Attributes Strong trade background (e.g., journeyman carpenter, concrete finisher, electrician, etc.) Leadership and communication abilities Knowledge of blueprints and construction documents Organizational and problem-solving skills Understanding of safety standards Ability to operate tools, machinery, and sometimes heavy equipment ??
