Southend-on-Sea (Hybrid Working) Existing Book: c. 200K GWPThe RoleWe are seeking an experienced and driven Account Executive to join our growing commercial insurance team in Southend-on-Sea. This role offers the opportunity to inherit and develop an established portfolio of approximately 200K Gross Written Premium (GWP), alongside generating new business across key sectors.You will be responsible for managing and expanding a book of clients across a range of commercial classes, including Fleet, Contractors, Liability, Professional Indemnity (PI), and Business Combined policies.Key ResponsibilitiesTake ownership of an inherited portfolio of commercial clients (c. 200K GWP)Build strong, long-term relationships to maximise retention and growthIdentify and convert new business opportunities within the local marketAdvise clients on appropriate cover across Fleet, Contractors, Liability, PI, and Business CombinedNegotiate with insurers to secure competitive terms and coverageWork closely with Account Handlers to ensure excellent service deliveryMaintain compliance with FCA regulations and internal proceduresDevelop a pipeline through networking, referrals, and local business engagementAbout YouProven experience as an Account Executive or similar client-facing role in commercial insuranceStrong technical knowledge across Fleet, Contractors, Liability, PI, and Business CombinedDemonstrated success in retaining and growing a book of businessExcellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsSelf-motivated xjdpvnf with a strong new business focusKnowledge of the Southend-on-Sea / Essex market is advantageousCert CII qualified (or working towards) preferredWhats on OfferCompetitive salary + uncapped bonus/commission structureHybrid working model (office + home-based flexibility)Inherited book of business providing immediate earning potentialOngoing professional development and support towards CII qualificationsA collaborative and supportive team environmentClear career progression opportunities
