Construction Planner

Our client is a respected Lancashire-based building contractor delivering projects up to £20 million across the health, education, and commercial sectors. They work on local authority frameworks and with private clients, with a reputation for delivering quality, safety, and value across all stages of the construction process.The RoleThey are looking for an experienced Construction Planner to support the successful delivery of multiple projects across our portfolio. Working closely with project and site teams, you will be responsible for producing and maintaining detailed programmes, identifying critical path activities, and supporting tender and live project planning requirements.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain detailed construction programmes for both tenders and live projectsLiaise with estimating, design, commercial, and site teams to ensure accuracy of programmesCarry out regular programme reviews and updates throughout the project lifecycleIdentify potential delays or issues and propose mitigation strategiesProduce short-term lookahead plans in coordination with site managementAnalyse subcontractor and supplier input into programmesAttend client, design, and progress meetings as requiredAssist with preparation of reports and presentations for both internal and external stakeholdersRequirementsProven experience as a Construction Planner in a main contractor environmentStrong knowledge of buildability and construction sequencingProficiency in Asta Powerproject or Primavera P6, with good MS Project skillsFamiliarity with NEC and JCT contracts and local authority frameworksExcellent communication and organisational skillsAttention to detail and ability to meet deadlines under pressureFull UK driving licence (occasional site travel required)DesirableDegree or HNC/HND in Construction Management or related fieldExperience with BIM integration or 4D planning (preferred but not essential)On offerCompetitive salary based on experienceCompany vehicle or car allowanceOngoing professional development and trainingLong-term workload secured across public and private sector projectsSupportive and team-focused working environment
