We’re on the lookout for a Head Chef to lead the kitchen of our latest pub, The Druid Inn in Gorsedd, near Holywell.We have invested heavily on a complete refurbishment to create a cracking, traditional, country pub. We have put a lot of thought and care into refurbishing The Druid. You will find roaring fires, charming furniture, interesting pictures and soft lighting all set around a characterful central bar full of interesting beers, wines and spirits. The kitchen has also had a full refurbishment, the space has been completely redesigned and now boasts a full induction kitchen.The menu will be on the traditional side and predominantly British, with allowance for some flair, using fresh produce with an emphasis on quality.This position would suit an experienced Head Chef used to working in a busy pub environment with good knowledge of fresh food operations, who is well organised, a good communicator and loves the buzz of a busy service.You will be responsible for running the daily food operation, leading a full chef team whilst developing and mentoring junior chefs, completing rotas and adhering to HACCP documentation and processes. You must be strong in cost control and stock management.You will work alongside the Druid Inn’s General Manager and Group Head Chef to create new dishes and develop relationships with suppliers to make sure we’re getting the best ingredients and achieving GP targets.You will become part of a friendly team that provides the opportunity to further your career in a growing, independent and family-run pub company headed by Jerry Brunning, the original founder of Brunning and Price.
