Design Manager - Cables Offshore Wind Subsea Experts South Coast You could be just the right applicant for this job Read all associated information and make sure to apply.An established, independent subsea engineering specialist on the South Coast is looking for a hands-on Design Manager to lead a small but highly capable design team supporting projects across renewables The team designs bespoke subsea equipment and cable-handling systems, often delivering turnkey solutions on fast-paced projects. With plenty of variety and a full order book, this is a great opportunity to shape designs, mentor engineers and play a key role in future growth This role blends leadership with real engineering. The Design Manager will guide and grow the design team while staying close to the detail; developing concepts, solving problems from first principles and seeing designs through from idea to installation. Its a role for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves as much as steering the ship The ideal candidate will be degree-qualified in mechanical or structural engineering, with 10+ years post-graduate experience, ideally in marine or subsea environments. Experience delivering both small and multi-million-pound projects from concept to commissioning is essential. xjdpvnf Strong working knowledge of Autodesk Inventor, FEA, Mathcad and Excel is expected, alongside a solid understanding of materials, fabrication, hydraulics and electrical systems Key responsibilities include:Leading and supporting the design team day to dayPlanning, resourcing and coordinating design work across projectsDeveloping concepts, producing and reviewing models, drawings and calculationsManaging design reviews, safety studies and technical documentationSupporting tenders, suppliers, build and commissioning activitiesMaintaining quality standards, processes and continuous improvementThis is a full-time position offering a competitive salary and benefits package, negotiable for the right candidate.
