We are seeking aLegal Claims Consultantto join our legal department as part of our growth and innovation journey. Role Overview TheLegal Claims Consultantwill handle guest and crew personal injury claims, and breach of contract claims, made against the company for all Carnival UK cruise brands (P&O Cruises, Cunard, Princess, Seabourn, and Holland America Line). You will manage approximately 100 cases from initiation to resolution, including investigation, strategy development, and settlement or defense, while monitoring financial reserves. Case types may include mediation, arbitration, and County Court claims. As a member of the Carnival UK Legal Department, you will also provide legal advice across the business, contributing proactively to risk reduction, operational improvements, and cost savings. This pivotal role involves: Communicating with guests, crew, and their legal representatives regarding claims. Logging, monitoring, and updating claims and reserves on the case management system. Valuing damages, including complex loss of earnings and care claims, using guidelines and case law. Investigating claims by liaising with onboard departments and visiting accident sites. Deciding on settlement or defense strategies based on legal and commercial considerations. This position is at CUK09 level and is available on a full-time, permanent basis with hybrid work options. What You'll Bring: Legal qualification or proven litigation experience in personal injury and contractual claims. Experience in claims handling, including complex injury and breach of contract claims. Knowledge of CPR, court processes, and handling group actions. Familiarity with Judicial College Guidelines and injury claim valuation. About You: The Ideal Candidate Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse stakeholders.
