Employment Tax Manager - Reading or Southampton I am working with a prestigious firm that is looking to appoint an Employment Tax Manager into their growing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a high-performing practice offering strong client exposure, varied advisory work, and genuine progression prospects. The role can be based in either Reading or Southampton. The Role You will manage a portfolio of clients, providing expert advice across all areas of employment tax while supporting the development of the wider team. Key responsibilities include: Advising on PAYE, NIC, benefits-in-kind, expenses, termination payments, IR35, and employment status Managing compliance processes including PSAs, P11Ds, and HMRC disclosures Supporting HMRC enquiries, audits, and negotiations Advising on reward structures, workforce planning, expatriate tax, and share schemes (where applicable) Acting as the main client contact and identifying advisory opportunities Supporting proposals, business development, and thought leadership Mentoring junior team members and contributing to service line growth About You ATT, CTA, or equivalent qualified Strong UK employment tax technical knowledge and HMRC experience Background in professional services or HMRC within employment tax Confident managing client relationships and delivering high-quality advice Experience handling HMRC enquiries and leading on negotiations Strong communicator with the ability to explain complex issues clearly Experience supervising or mentoring junior staff Proactive, organised, and able to manage multiple priorities What is on offer Varied advisory-focused role within a respected team Strong career progression opportunities Supportive and collaborative working culture Opportunity to shape and grow the employment tax offering If you are looking for your next step in employment tax within a forward-thinking firm, I would be happy to arrange a confidential discussion.
