Vacancy A vacancy at University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust.Overview University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer a fantastic opportunity to work with us. Applications are invited for the Wessex interventional cardiology fellowship. This encompasses at least four appointments across the region in three trusts – Portsmouth (QAH), Southampton (UHS) and Bournemouth (UHD).Training All posts carry training in interventional cardiology. Each centre provides busy 24/7 primary PCI services across the Wessex region, covering East Sussex to West Dorset and parts of Wiltshire. Successful candidates will receive advanced training in all aspects of percutaneous coronary intervention for acute and stable patients. All trusts have established CTO programmes and perform complex “CHIP” angioplasty, with exposure to IVUS, OCT, and advanced intracoronary physiology. Rotational atherectomy, intravascular lithotripsy, orbital and laser atherectomy, and coronary sinus reducer implantation are available for training.For suitable candidates, UHS offers a post with training in structural intervention within our TAVI and mitral programmes, supporting the TAVI team and participating in the MDT process, including assessment of referrals and ongoing ward care.The post holder will be responsible for running a weekly angio review session, preparing the cardiac surgical MDT and participating in a weekly outpatient clinic for complex PCI patients.Development & Support As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we offer learning and development opportunities to help you achieve the career you aspire to.
