Safety Assurance Engineer

Job Description IT SAFETY ENGINEER SC CLEARANCE REQUIREDWe are seeking an experienced Safety Assurance Engineer with experience across digital systems to support the delivery of safety-critical systems within a regulated and secure environment. You will play a key role in ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose across the full project lifecycle.This role requires active Security Check (SC) clearance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support safety assurance activities across complex engineering projectsProduce and maintain safety documentation, including Safety Plans, Hazard Logs, Safety Cases, and Assurance ReportsConduct hazard identification, risk assessment, and mitigation activities (e.g. HAZID, HAZOP, FMEA)Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g. DEF STANs, EN standards, ALARP principles)Work closely with systems, software, and hardware engineers to embed safety into designsSupport safety reviews, audits, and stakeholder engagement, including customers and regulatorsEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience as a Safety Assurance EngineerStrong knowledge of safety engineering principles and lifecycle assuranceExperience producing safety cases and associated evidenceFamiliarity with UK safety and regulatory standardsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsActive SC ClearanceJBRP1_UKTJ
