Key Responsibilities Operate the Southall Lane Depot weighbridge to record incoming/outgoing waste and recycling, ensuring compliance with licensing, Duty of Care regulations, and Digital Waste Tracking. Manage site access control: including induction of visitors/contractors, issue/withdraw access passes, ensuring full PPE use, and traffic control. Support the Depot Manager & Supervisor with contractor management, ensuring all Risk and Method Statements received, checked and filed prior to visiting & working onsite. Liaise with hauliers, contractors, and visitors; be first point of contact for queries, complaints or incidents; escalate as needed. Compile and deliver monthly/quarterly reports (tonnage, weighbridge data, incident logs) to the Depot Manager and regulatory bodies (e.g. West London Waste Authority, Environmental Agency). Ensure all legal documentation (Waste Transfer Notes, Waste Carrier Licences, etc.) is accurate, signed, and retained for audit Monitor vehicle compliance (weights, fitness under Road Traffic Acts) as vehicles exit site. Assist in scheduling haulage of materials with external brokers or customers as required. Maintain stock of depot consumables: PPE, stationery, hot drink provisions, vending orders etc. Upload all incidents (onsite & during collection activity) into the Health & Safety system. Set up suppliers on finance system raise purchase orders, receipt goods, and raise invoices as required, in relation to the Depot Operation. Support communication channels (noticeboards etc.) to keep staff informed. Open/close the site to hauliers/visitors; ensure smooth handover to security staff. Support additional depot administration tasks as needed. Previous Experience and Skills Required Essential: Experience in an operational administrative role or customer-facing site role. Strong organisational and time management skills; ability to prioritise tasks. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficient IT skills (MS Office, ability to produce reports, charts, pivot tables). High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues, managers, and stakeholders. Desirable: Experience in the waste / recycling industry Familiarity with weighbridge systems or related software. Knowledge of regulatory reporting (Duty of Care, Environment Agency requirements etc.). Behaviours/Attributes: Proactive, self-motivated, takes ownership. Meticulous and detail-oriented.
