Quantity Surveyor Groundworks and Civils

Location: South Somercotes, Nr Louth Employment Type: Open to full and part time applicants, Permanent Monday to Friday Probation Period: 3 Months An exciting opportunity has arisen for a quantity surveyor to join our team working in Civils Construction on a variety of Residential and Commercial Projects. Responsibilities: Obtaining quotes from suppliers and contractors within a specified time frame. Assessing the risk levels associated with a project. Preparing tenders for existing clients and new contracts. Monitoring the costs at the different stages of a project to ensure it stays within budget. Vetting Contracts, attending pre-start meetings to negotiate and agree contractual terms. Putting together programs of work. Attending site meetings. Site visits to carry out accurate monthly valuations including re-measures and variations. Dealing with client queries. Production of accurate valuations and final accounts. Working closely with the Commercial and Civils Team Key skills: Presents a professional image to clients and colleagues Excellent communication and organisational skills displaying attention to detail. Ability to build effective working relationships and maintain and build client relationships to secure further work opportunities. Able to make decisions in a timely and appropriate manner. Analytical and forward thinking. Good understanding of the building process and construction materials. Computer literate with a good understanding of Microsoft excel. Thorough knowledge of current CDM Health and Safety requirements, modern methods of construction and contractual awareness. Qualifications: Degree level or similar construction related discipline.
