Job Description Location: UKbased | Hybrid working (Combination of home working and office attendance as required)Contract: Permanent16 hours per week (flexible working pattern considered)Reporting to: Claims ManagerRole Purpose:We are seeking an experienced and empathetic DentoLegal Adviser to join our expanding team on a parttime, permanent basis. This role will focus on preclaim dentolegal support, providing timely, practical guidance to dental professionals when they need it most.You will support clients with earlystage matters, including responding to patient complaints, risk mitigation, and professional decisionmaking, helping to resolve concerns at the earliest possible stage and reduce the likelihood of escalation into claims or regulatory action.This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected, expanding dentolegal team, with access to peer support, mentorship, and structured training from some of the most experienced and wellknown dentolegal advisers in the UK.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Advice & Support:Provide clear, pragmatic dentolegal advice to dental professionals on prepolicy matters, with a focus on: Patient complaints and complaint response draftingConsent, recordkeeping, and communication issuesProfessional conduct and ethical decisionmakingSupport clients in managing risk proactively, helping them understand how to avoid escalation and medicolegal exposure.Deliver advice that is legally robust, proportionate, and aligned with current professional standards.Risk Mitigation & Prevention:Identify patterns or common risk themes within client queries and provide guidance aimed at risk reduction and best practice.Support clients in strengthening systems, processes, and behaviours that improve patient safety and professional protection.Contribute to internal knowledgesharing to support consistent, highquality advice across the team.Collaboration & Team Contribution:Work collaboratively within a growing dentolegal team, sharing insight and learning with peers.Engage fully in peer support, supervision, and training opportunities provided by senior dentolegal advisers.Participate in case discussions and quality assurance activities as required.Person Specification:Essential Criteria:GDCregistered dentist (current or recent registration).Significant postqualification clinical experience within UK dental practice.Demonstrable interest in dentolegal, ethical, and regulatory matters.Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly and sensitively.Sound professional judgement and a calm, clientfocused approach.Postgraduate qualification or formal training in Dental Law, Ethics, or MedicoLegal Practice (e.g. PG Cert Dental Law & Ethics, LLM, or equivalent).Desirable Criteria:Experience supporting colleagues with complaints, advisory work, or dentolegal queries.Previous involvement with risk management, governance, or professional standards.What We Offer:A parttime, permanent role with genuine flexibility (16 hours per week).Hybrid working arrangement supporting worklife balance.The opportunity to work alongside and learn from nationally recognised dentolegal experts.Structured onboarding, training, and peer support within a collaborative team.Meaningful work focused on prevention, support, and professional development, rather than claimdriven activity.Competitive prorata remuneration aligned to senior dentolegal advisory roles.Company Pension SchemeAccess to Company Share-Save Scheme
