Role: Senior Quantity Surveyor – MEP (Data Centres)Location: Hertfordshire or LondonEmployment type: Full time/permanentSalary: Competitive and negotiableWe’re working with a specialist contractor delivering full-scope infrastructure packages into hyperscale, colocation, and enterprise data centre environments. Their MEP division is scaling fast, with live projects across the UK, Ireland, the Nordics, and mainland Europe — and they’re now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team.This role sits within a dedicated in-house delivery unit for mechanical and electrical systems, where you’ll have full visibility from tender through to final account, and genuine opportunity to grow into a Managing QS or Commercial Lead role as the division expands.What you’ll be doing:Managing the full commercial lifecycle of MEP packages on data centre projects (typically £1m–£50m+)Working closely with project teams on-site and senior management to ensure cost, contract, and risk management across all phasesProcuring specialist MEP subcontractors and suppliers, including managing tender processes and contract negotiationsIssuing applications for payment, assessing subcontractor valuations, and managing variations and change controlProducing regular cost reports, forecasts, cash flow reports, and final accountsSupporting commercial strategy development, working closely with Commercial Leads and DirectorsContributing to internal process improvements and mentoring junior QSs when neededInterfacing with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners to ensure alignment and delivery on expectationsWhat we’re looking for:5–10 years of Quantity Surveying experience, with a strong focus on mechanical and electrical systemsExperience on data centre, hospital, pharma, or critical infrastructure projects is highly desirableIn-depth knowledge of NEC and/or JCT contract formsStrong procurement, negotiation, and subcontract management skillsAbility to handle multiple concurrent workstreams and confidently manage stakeholdersProactive, hands-on mentality - someone who thrives in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environmentFlexibility to travel to site locations across the UK and EU where requiredWhat’s in it for you?Join a business delivering end-to-end MEP and technology infrastructure for some of the world’s most demanding data centre clientsWork alongside a highly experienced in-house team - no outsourcing, no silosClear and achievable progression to Managing QS / Commercial Manager levelCompetitive salary, car allowance, travel expenses, bonus scheme, and ongoing trainingExposure to large-scale, complex projects in a high-growth sector
