Key ResponsibilitiesClaims Management: Lead the preparation and submission of claims for extensions of time (EOT), prolongation, disruption, and variations.Documentation: Gather, verify, and organise supporting documentation from site records, programmes, and correspondence to substantiate claims.Commercial Analysis: Quantify cost impacts arising from claims, including labour, plant, materials, and overheads.Negotiation & Defence: Present and negotiate claims with client representatives; support dispute avoidance and resolution processes.Contract Administration: Interpret contract terms and ensure compliance with notice provisions and contractual timelines.Stakeholder Interface: Work closely with project managers, planners, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure alignment on claim strategy and substantiation.Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior commercial management on claim status, risks, and potential recoveries.Subcontract Claims: Assess, review, and negotiate subcontractor claims, ensuring back-to-back alignment with the main contract.Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify potential claim situations and advise project teams on record-keeping and claim strategy.Qualifications & ExperienceDegree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related field.Minimum 8–12 years’ post-qualification experience, with a strong background in claims and commercial management on large-scale engineering/infrastructure projects.Proven track record in preparing, substantiating, and negotiating EOT and variation claims.Strong knowledge of FIDIC or other major international standard forms of contract.Excellent analytical, contractual, and report-writing skills.Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills, with confidence in client-facing situations.Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of claims management tools and planning software (e.g., Primavera P6) advantageous.
