Working closely with our private and public sector partners and clients, O’Shea has successfully delivered an impressive range of projects from mixed-use schemes to prestigious refurbishments, conversions of existing buildings, prestige high rise and high-end developments. We provide design, sustainable construction and project management services on projects ranging from £10m to over £300 million.About the Role: Due to continuing expansion, we have a vacancy for a Health & Safety Advisor to join our team (reporting to the Senior Health and Safety Manager). Candidate will be working on site with one other health and safety advisor.The project is a £170m residential, commercial mixed unit scheme in Hackney Wick Duties will include, but are not limited to:Assist in developing and implementing Health and Safety strategies and policies to:        - Help ensure the safety of all employees, contractors, and visitors        - Ensure ongoing legal complianceKeep up to date with current UK health and safety legislation and industry best practice and where required share this information with health and safety wider team and site staffMaintaining/improving our overall safety performance and that of our supply chain partnersAttend and chair health and safety meetingsReview Risk Assessment and Method Statements (RAMS) as requiredDeveloping effective relationships with the sub-contractor’s health and safety RepresentativesSit with and mentor site management teams in site set up, preparing health and safety documents or presentations such as RAMS, toolbox talks, etc.Carry out site inspections Attend internal project meeting to discuss specific issues when activities on site requireTake a lead in accident investigations and communicate findings to the senior health and safety managerAdvise on health and safety training requirementsAssist in:Preparation of health and safety bulletins based on learnings from incidents/near misses/audits or review of health and safety policies & proceduresMaintaining a comprehensive health and safety management system that meets the needs and requirements of the business while satisfying the requirements of ISO:45001Review of existing health and safety policies & procedures and communicate to all site staffThe upkeep of the compliance trackerAbout the Requirements;Hold relevant UK health and safety qualificationsExcellent knowledge of health and safety requirements in UK Construction Industry Good knowledge of current technical building requirementsStrong drive to continuously improve systems, processes and selfAbility to build strong working relationships with a wide range of peopleExcellent communication and negotiation skillsProactive with strong problem-solving abilityEffective time managementGood IT skills This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing organisation.
