Equal Justice Ltd solicitors is an award winning specialist employment law firm. We attract high-profile (ie: strategically important) discrimination and whistleblowing claims. We were set up as a human rights led firm to provide City quality advice and representation for claimants at affordable rates; to ensure as far as possible that claimants were not costed out of justice. We are now looking for a full time (or possibly two part-time) 3 year PQE plus Solicitor to provide specialist advice and representation on employment law and to provide representation in employment tribunal cases. They should have a proven track record of ET casework and advocacy and have a strong commitment to anti-discrimination and to workers’ rights. The role is based in our London (Kingston upon Thames) office. The consultancy roles are not office based. The successful candidate will report to CEO, Lawrence Davies. The successful candidate will run employment tribunal cases; contribute to policy development and develop and deliver training. Essential requirements Qualified solicitor with at least 3 years’ post qualification experience.Specialist knowledge of employment law and an ability to manage and advise on complex case work.Experience of handling Employment Tribunal cases.Proven advocacy experience at the Employment TribunalAbility to analyse and evaluate legal information and disseminate accordingly.Ability to communicate effectively.Have strong planning, organising, analytical and problem-solving skills. We are seeking self-sufficient, more senior employment lawyers (7 years' PQE plus) who generate their own casework employment and conduct their own advocacy and seek only admin support and some managerial/collegiate oversight.Paralegals (unpaid) / Work experienceWe are seeking a small number (2-3) of unpaid paralegals to gain work experience. It will involve one day a week of office based work and Employment Tribunal attendances (note-taking for barristers/our advocates). We pay travel and lunch expenses.
