We are currently seeking a compassionate, experienced, and creative Speech and Language Therapist to work at a school that we work with closely. The role is a long-term contract with the option of progressing to a permanent contract. The role of a Speech and Language Therapist plays an important role in helping pupils progression.Key Responsibilities:Work collaboratively with the Senior Speech and Language Therapist and wider therapeutic team to support pupil communication needs in line with the CATHS approach.Embed a Total Communication approach throughout the school environment.Conduct speech, language, and communication assessments for all pupils.Plan and deliver universal, targeted, and specialist therapy interventions using evidence-based methods.Collaborate with teachers, families, and other professionals to integrate communication goals into each pupil’s Personal Learning Plan (PLP).Offer classroom-based support to embed communication strategies across the school day.Manage a diverse caseload, including pupils with highly complex communication needs.Monitor and regularly review pupils’ progress, adapting interventions accordingly.Provide training, support, and guidance to education staff to ensure communication strategies are consistently implemented.Supervise and support the work of Therapeutic Support Assistants, offering clinical oversight and mentorship.Attend and actively participate in regular multidisciplinary meetings to ensure cohesive support planning.Requirements:Recognised degree in Speech and Language TherapyHCPC Registration and membership of RCSLTExperience working with children and young people with SEND, particularly within an educational settingStrong understanding of communication strategies including AAC, PECS, and Total Communication approachesExcellent interpersonal and collaborative skillsAbility to work flexibly across a complex and dynamic school environmentPrevious experience supervising others is desirableWhat We Offer:A warm, supportive, and collaborative working environmentOpportunities for CPD and professional supervisionInvolvement in an innovative, forward-thinking therapeutic modelAccess to high-quality resources and therapeutic toolsTerm-time working for excellent work/life balance
