Autism TeacherWe are working closely with a specialist autism school who are looking for an experienced and qualified teacher with experience of teaching pupils with Autism. September start date on a long-term contract with the immediate option of progressing to a permanent contract after just one term. Fantastic opportunity to work at a school who will fully support their staff.We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated, and experienced Autism Teacher to provide high-quality, individualized education and support to students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). The successful candidate will create a structured and supportive classroom environment that fosters academic, social, emotional, and behavioural growth for students with autism.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement Individualised Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to each student’s unique needs.Provide differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies for students with autism.Create a structured, sensory-aware, and autism-friendly classroom environment.Use positive behavioural interventions and supports (PBIS) to promote appropriate behaviors.Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure consistent instruction and support.Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instructional plans accordingly.Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and strategies for support at home.Provide social skills training and help students build communication and independence.Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records in compliance with local and national regulations.Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and training related to autism and special education.Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master’s preferred).Valid state teaching license with Special Education endorsement.Experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder.Knowledge of evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies for students with autism.
