Senior Design Technician – Civil & Structural Engineering Are you a Design Technician with a passion for delivering high-quality projects and leading motivated teams? BakerHicks is looking for a Senior Design Technician – Civil & Structural Engineering to join our growing team and help shape the future of engineering in sectors such as buildings, infrastructure, and more.What You’ll Do:Be responsible for producing schematic, general-arrangement, and detailed drawings in accordance with relevant standards and proceduresEnsure quality of delivery when producing or updating CAD drawings to internal and/or customer standardsWork closely with other members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient and buildable solutionsCommunicate and collaborate with CAD technicians from other disciplines, other consultants, etc.Provide support to CAD technicians, trainees, and graduates in their professional developmentProvide technical mentoring to junior members of the CAD teamTake lead responsibility for the registration and document control of all incoming information and outgoing deliverables.Take lead responsibility for maintaining drawing records, such as check and record file copiesProvide feedback on the performance of the department from a technical and operational perspectiveKeep up to date with design trends/competitor awareness /design techniques (BIM, etc.)Report to the management team to ensure that resource requirements are utilised efficiently.Represent Baker Hicks in external project technical meetings if requiredWhat you Bring:HNC/ HND Civil Engineering accredited with ICE/ Eng Tech TMICE or TIStructEHigh level of proficiency in Autodesk REVITExperience with CADS RCAbility to produce 2D & 3D C&S deliverables from concept through to fully coordinated detailed designKnowledge and experience of traditional building materials, e.g., Steel, Timber, Concrete and RC detailing, and overall site-wide infrastructure and earthworksAutoCAD 2D and 3D software, use of Microstation, AECOSIM (Bentley Structural) and ProjectWise would be beneficialKnowledge of CDM regulationsKnowledge of current UK technical standards/publications and legislation requirementsKnowledge of standard details and solutions, and complianceBenefits:Whatever your discipline, you’ll be alongside some of the most talented people in the industry.
