Design Manager

Populo exist to tackle the shortage of homes in the Borough and to deliver half of these homes at genuinely affordable levels. Design Manager Vacancy The Design Manager role will suit someone who is passionate about design and the value it brings to people’s lives. It encompasses all aspects of design, technical management and sustainability across the RIBA work stages. Experience required • 3- 6 years post RIBA Part III (or equivalent qualification) within architectural practice. • Large-scale residential-led experience on complex urban brownfield sites. • Proven track record of managing and coordinating design in accordance with programme and budget. • Exemplary verbal / graphic communication and presentation style. • Working knowledge of the principles of BIM would be beneficial. Responsibilities •Oversee implementation of the Populo design management strategy across all RIBA work stages for multiple projects. • Preparation of key documents capturing Populo design / technical standards. •Ensure sustainable outcomes are embedded within all projects and are monitored across the project lifecycle. • Prepare capacity / feasibility studies for new sites, including presentation material for internal review. • Prepare project specific briefing material and monitor adherence to this throughout  the work stages. •Oversee all stage specific project activities including attendance at design meetings, programme monitoring, deliverables scheduling, scrutiny of design information, responding to RFIs and site issues. •Promote a value management culture that does not compromise value, innovation or quality. •Ensure statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations are met. • Manage relationships with all stakeholders, both internal and external. Location The role will predominantly be based in Populo’s office in Stratford with the opportunity to work flexibly.
