US Tax Insurance Underwriter

SRM Recruitment have been retained by a reputable, London headquartered M&A Insurance Underwriter who are growing their US tax, transactional risk business in the UK. As part of a strategic growth plan they are now looking to recruit an experienced US qualified Tax specialist with strong M&A and/or tax credits experience to join them as a Tax Insurance Underwriter.Responsibilities:Handling the entire underwriting process, with specific focus on the US starting with confidentiality agreements, preparing non-binding indications, drafting policies, negotiating contract terms and preparing underwriting requests.Issue of policy documentsEstablishment and development of international broker and customer relationshipsBuilding relationships with law firms in different jurisdictionsRequirements:Due to the jurisdictional focus of the role you will be a US qualified tax specialist with either a legal or CPA qualificationIdeally, a degree in law / commercial law / business administration or in another relevant M&A environment, e.g. Corporate finance in the Big 4 or BankingYour strengths include strong customer orientation, decision-making power and a high degree of persuasiveness, as well as high motivation and resilienceYou have already been able to demonstrate your strong team skills, your high sense of responsibility and your adaptability when dealing with a wide range of technical issuesThis is an exciting opportunity to join a smaller team environment who enjoy a strong brand reputation in the market.No previous insurance experience is required. Due to the specific nature of this work we are only able to respond to candidates with current US M&A tax experience who are based in London.
