Job Description Are you an enthusiastic scientist with a passion for microbial process development?This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative R&D team working on innovative microbial expression and fermentation projects to support the generation of novel therapeutic proteinsThe RoleAs an Associate Scientist, youll support the development and optimisation of microbial processes to produce novel therapeutic proteins, i.e. antibodies, from lab to pilot scale (250 mL200 L)Youll work on a range of experiments, analyse data, and contribute to continuous process improvement helping to deliver high-quality microbial products.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, optimise, and troubleshoot microbial fermentation processesOperate bioreactors and pilot-scale systems e.g. AMBR 250Design and execute experiments, record and analyse dataPresent findings to colleagues and contribute to technical discussionsMaintain accurate documentation and ensure safe lab practicesAbout YouBSc/BEng (or equivalent) in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering, or related field.Experience with E. coli and microbial fermentationFamiliar with bioreactors or fermenters and control software i.e. AMBR systemsHighly organised with strong attention to detailA great communicator who enjoys teamwork and learning new techniquesThis role is offered on a 12 month contract with potential for extension.Why Apply?If youre looking to build your technical expertise, work on exciting scientific projects, and grow within a supportive environment, this could be the perfect next step in your career.Keywords: microbial, bacteria, E.coli, protein, expression, bioreactor, pilot plant, fermentor, fermentation, biotechnology, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, biotherapeutic, industry, Berkshire, Reading, Slough, London, VRS9385SE
