Job Description Highly competitive salary above market rates.We are recruiting an Engineering Team Leader to join a well-established, fast-paced manufacturing and food processing site.This is a hands-on leadership position, reporting into the Engineering Shift Manager, with responsibility for leading mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled engineers on shift and ensuring plant reliability, safety and performance.This role suits an engineer who enjoys being on the tools, leading from the front and making a visible impact on site performance.Why Work Here?This is a site that is investing heavily in its future. There is significant ongoing investment in modern machinery, automation and infrastructure, creating an engineering environment that is progressive, varied and technically engaging.You will benefit from:A wide and diverse range of machinery to work on no repetitive, same-problem-every-day maintenanceGenuine variety every day is different, with new challenges and learning opportunitiesInvolvement in projects, upgrades and continuous improvement initiativesExposure to new technology and modern equipmentStrong job satisfaction from solving real engineering problemsUnrivalled internal career opportunities within engineering and leadershipThis is an environment where engineers grow, develop and build long-term careers.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and support mechanical, electrical and multi-skilled engineers on shiftAct as deputy to the Engineering Shift Manager when requiredPrioritise and allocate engineering work to maintain production outputDrive planned and preventative maintenance using CMMS / SAP PPMDiagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults and breakdownsEnsure full compliance with Health & Safety, COSHH and permit-to-work systemsSupport training, mentoring and development of engineers and semi-skilled staffCoordinate contractors and visiting engineers for upgrades and improvement worksMaintain accurate engineering documentation and recordsPromote 5S standards and environmental compliance across the siteCandidate ProfileTime-served Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Engineer or Mechanical EngineerApprentice trained to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent)Minimum of 4 years experience within an industrial or manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical or electrical background with proven fault-finding capabilityPrevious team lead, supervisory or step-up leadership experienceConfident decision-maker in a fast-paced production environmentIT literate with experience of CMMS systems (SAP advantageous)Proactive, organised and safety-focused approachWe actively welcome applications from engineers with a military background.RecruitME is a veteran-owned business and proud holder of the Governments prestigious Gold Award under the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
