Job Description ob description:OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and dedicated Gas Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing gas systems in both commercial and residential settings. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical systems, safety protocols, and a variety of technical skills. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth within a reputable organisation.The hours of work are 8AM TILL 4.30PM Monday to Friday, some occasional emergency call outs which are agreed prior.ResponsibilitiesInstall, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in accordance with current safety standards and regulationsConduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and perform necessary maintenanceUse a range of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to complete tasks efficientlyPerform welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work as required during installation or repairsCarry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely and effectivelyMaintain accurate records of work completed and parts usedEnsure all work areas are kept clean, organised, and compliant with health and safety policiesAssist with troubleshooting complex mechanical problems related to gas systemsCollaborate with team members to complete projects within designated timeframesExperienceProven experience as a Gas Engineer or in a similar role within the building services industryDemonstrable knowledge of mechanical systems, plumbing, welding, and assembly techniquesFamiliarity with the use of hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as welding machinesExperience working with commercial gas systems is highly desirableAbility to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during installation or maintenance tasksValid driving licence suitable for commercial driving is preferred but not essential for all rolesBasic maths skills for measurements and calculations related to system specificationsStrong problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret technical drawings and schematicsMust have - GAS CCN1, CORE DOMESTIC GAS SAFETY.
