Base pay rangeDirect message the job poster from Practice Plus Group TitleConsultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Practice Plus Group Hospital Shepton Mallet About The RoleUNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE + Make a difference for every patient An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Foot and Ankle Surgeon to join Practice Plus Group Hospital Shepton Mallet, becoming a key member of our multidisciplinary team with expertise in soft tissue Orthopaedic procedures. As a Consultant, you will have access to excellent facilities within a structured and supportive environment. Our unit performs a high volume of surgeries, including foot and ankle procedures, focusing on delivering exceptional care. In 2021/2022, we performed over 1500 hip and knee arthroplasties, with plans to increase surgical volumes. Our average length of stay for these surgeries is below 2 days, and we are expanding our same-day discharge pathways through our enhanced recovery programme. We welcome surgeons who can contribute to these initiatives. Our outcomes, measured by PROMs, consistently exceed the national average. We offer a competitive salary, considering candidates for substantive employment only. ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Medical Director, you will perform orthopaedic procedures on patients referred to the hospital, treating both NHS and private patients in accordance with protocols and practices. You will provide expert clinical opinions on elective orthopaedic cases based on your experience, and perform surgical procedures within your scope of expertise. You may also undertake other operations within your contracted responsibilities. Candidate RequirementsApplicants must be UK-registered professionals with a GMC specialist listing. We support ongoing CPD and career development. Please include details in your CV about your interest in the role, relevant experience within the past 3 years, number of cases performed, and outcomes from national databases if applicable. Applicants with BUPA accreditation will be considered favorably.
