HGV Used Vehicle Technical Specialist - Daimler TrucksLocation: Wentworth Park, Barnsley (S75 3DH)Candidates should take the time to read all the elements of this job advert carefully Please make your application promptly.Salary: Competitive, DOE + Excellent Benefits!Contract: Full-time, PermanentBenefits: 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Holiday buy and sell scheme, Private health insurance, Pension contribution, Employee referral scheme, Electric vehicle salary sacrifice scheme, Eye test vouchers and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP).Play a Key Role in Supporting Used Truck Sales for a Leading Prestige Automotive Brand!We're looking for an experienced and detail-oriented HGV Used Vehicle Technical Specialist to join DEKRA Automotive, supporting our client's Used Truck business.In this pivotal role, you'll assess returning used vehicles, oversee inspection processes, and ensure that all technical assessments and recharges are fair, accurate, and professionally handled.You'll also work closely with customers, workshops, and internal teams combining your technical truck knowledge with a commercial and customer-focused approach.What You'll DoSupport Used Truck Sales by managing inspection reports, assessing recharges, and ensuring fair and transparent vehicle evaluations.Work closely with third-party workshops to maintain high standards of accuracy, consistency, and technical quality in inspection reporting.Act as a trusted technical advisor, supporting high-volume customers with return scheduling, pre-inspections, and technical queries.Resolve disputes fairly and efficiently, representing the best interests of the Used Truck business.Collaborate with the sales, finance, and end-of-contract teams to ensure smooth communication and effective forecasting of vehicle returns.Contribute to continuous improvement, supporting DEKRA's commitment to quality, safety, and efficiency across all operations.Continual review of internal systems, processes and policies to drive efficiencies across all key touch points of the process.What We're Looking ForYou'll be a strong communicator and technically skilled professional with a good understanding of HGVs and used vehicle assessment.You'll enjoy balancing technical detail with commercial awareness ensuring the best outcome for both customers and the business.Be a strategic thinker with a visionary mindset on driving efficiency wherever possible.Essential skills and experience:City & Guilds qualification in Motor Vehicle Studies or equivalentStrong technical knowledge of HGV maintenance and inspectionValid HGV Class 1 licenceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.Good working knowledge of Excel (Truckfile or Keyloop experience an advantage)Strong organisational skills and ability to work independentlyWhy Join DEKRA AutomotiveAt DEKRA, safety, quality, and integrity are at the heart of everything we do.
