Job Description Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager UK WideBase: Sheffield or Any UK site | Travel: 4060% across UK & occasional overseasPermanent | Engineering / Industrial Projects / ManufacturingA leading global engineering organisation is looking for an experienced Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to support its UK operations and international project portfolio. With approx. 300 employees across multiple UK sites (including workshops and overseas construction activity), this is a hands-on, influential role at the heart of a complex technical environment.If youre an adaptable, pragmatic EHS professional who thrives in dynamic environments this is a rare opportunity to make a real impact across a diverse engineering business.The RoleYoull take ownership of a broad range of EHS activities, supporting engineering projects, workshop operations and overseas construction sites. This is a practical, travel-led position requiring strong engagement skills, technical competence and the ability to influence behaviours at all levels.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain and develop ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 management systemsLead behavioural safety and drive a proactive EHS cultureIdentify, assess and monitor EHS risks, and develop improvement plansConduct internal audits and support external audit processesComplete task-specific risk assessmentsInvestigate incidents and implement corrective actionsDeliver toolbox talks, coaching and practical safety trainingEnsure compliance with UK legislation, CDM and relevant standardsProvide EHS support to UK workshops and international construction sitesSkills & ExperienceA-Level / HNC / time-served or equivalentNEBOSH Construction Certificate (or working towards Diploma)Strong experience in EHS within engineering, manufacturing or industrial environmentsConfident influencing stakeholders at all levelsProven experience with capital or turnkey projectsKnowledge of CDM and COMAHAuditing and management systems experienceProduct safety experience desirableBehavioursClear communicator with strong presentation skillsAble to engage, challenge and influenceAdaptable, proactive and able to respond quickly to changing prioritiesBenefitsHybrid & flexible workingTailored personal development plansSupport for further education & qualificationsAnnual chartership fees paidOpportunity to contribute to major global engineering projects Additional InfoThis role can be based at any UK site, but requires regular travel (4060%).
