Senior Bid Writer

I am recruiting for a leading infrastructure consultancy, providing services across net zero, utilities, rail, defence, and nuclear to tier 1 and tier 2 clients. Over the past 8 years, the company has supported the delivery of over 8bn of growth for infrastructure organisations throughout the UK. Based in the suburbs of Sheffield, the business offers a flexible working environment. Role Overview We are seeking a Senior Bid & Research Writer / Work Winning Specialist to join the team. This senior position involves leading bid writing, conducting strategic research, and supporting internal development initiatives. The role provides opportunities to develop proposal management skills, lead tender submissions, and provide guidance to colleagues to ensure high-quality outputs that meet client objectives. Key Responsibilities Work Winning & Bid Management Lead responses to pre-qualification questionnaires (PQQs) and invitations to tender (ITTs) Facilitate storyboard sessions and information gathering workshops Develop, edit, and manage bid content with subject matter experts Ensure high-quality proposal outputs and alignment with client requirements Apply client feedback to improve future submissions Deliver proposals to agreed deadlines Strategic Consultancy & Advisory Support Contribute to strategic consultancy outputs and infrastructure projects Apply research, analysis, and technical insight to complex projects Support teams in delivering quality-driven reports and written outputs Requirements Essential Experience in large framework tenders and bid management Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring skills Ability to multitask and deliver under tight deadlines Well-organised with a client-focused approach Excellent writing, editing, and numerical skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint Desirable Degree-level education Willingness to travel Knowledge of the infrastructure sector Experience in technical research, analysis, and consultancy Experience: Minimum of 5 years in senior bid writing, proposal management, or research within a similar environment.
