Manual Lathe Machinist Location: Sheffield Salary: 37,000 per annum Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity On behalf of our client, we are recruiting for an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist to join a well-established engineering organisation based in Sheffield. This is a permanent position offering a competitive salary and long-term job security within a busy workshop environment. The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for setting and operating manual lathes to produce high-quality components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes Machine components from engineering drawings and specifications Work with a variety of materials including carbon steel, stainless steel, and alloys Maintain high standards of accuracy, quality, and finish Carry out basic machine maintenance and tooling changes Inspect finished components using measuring equipment (verniers, micrometers, gauges) Adhere to health, safety, and quality procedures Skills & Experience Required Proven experience operating manual lathes Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Strong understanding of machining tolerances and finishes Experience working with a range of metals Confident using precision measuring equipment Time-served machinist or relevant engineering qualification preferred What's on Offer 37,000 salary Day shift / stable working hours Overtime opportunities Pension scheme Long-term, secure employment Supportive workshop environment How to Apply If you are an experienced Manual Lathe Machinist looking for a new opportunity in Sheffield, please apply with your CV.
