Bench Fitter

Position: Bench Fitter Location: Killamarsh, Sheffield Hourly rate: 16.93 per hour (34,334 per annum) Assembly Operative required for a well-established specialist supplier of hydraulic and Electric Submersible Pumps. The successful Candidate will be undertaking assembly, disassembly and repair works on Diesel Pumps, Gearboxes and Diesel Engines. It is envisioned that the successful candidate will come from a background in Marine or Pump Fitting, have completed a Mechanical apprenticeship and be based within a commutable distance of Sheffield. Bench Fitter Position Overview Carrying out assembly of pump related components and sub-assemblies Conduct refurbishment works to existing machinery. Preparation and creation of parts lists for assembly. Carrying out functionality tests to check for mechanical or electrical faults in order to comply with strict quality standards. Preparation of completed equipment for client or factory testing. Adhering to Health & Safety and other regulations/standards-thus maintaining a safe working environment. Bench Fitter Position Requirements A HND / HNC / Apprenticeship Served qualification in mechanical engineering would be advantageous. Previous experience with assembly / disassembly and repair of pumps / engines or motors is essential. Ability to read and work from engineering drawings. Able to use small hand tools and manual machinery. A close attention to detail and initiative. Previous experience working to strict quality standards within manufacturing such as ISO: 9001. Based in a commutable distance of Sheffield.
