Job Description Account Handler / Trainee Account HandlerNear Sevenoaks, Kent | Hybrid (4 days office, 1 day WFH)Join Gibbs Laidler Consulting Opportunity in Insurance ConsultingWe are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity for an Account Handler or an individual at an early stage of their career to join our Account Handling team, commencing no later than 1st July 2026.This role will be primarily office-based at our head office near Sevenoaks, with the flexibility to work from home one fixed day per week.Company DescriptionGibbs Laidler Consulting LLP provides independent, expert advice in insurance and risk management, specializing in the housing association sector. Through a client-first approach, we assist organisations in navigating complex insurance and procurement challenges effectively.Role DescriptionYou will join a dedicated consultancy team supporting Jeremy Flints client portfolio, working across a wide range of insurance programmes.This is a varied role combining technical and client-facing responsibilities, including:Responding to client queries via phone, email, and MS TeamsSupporting the delivery of insurance tender projectsAssisting with day-to-day account management activitiesAttending occasional client meetings and corporate eventsWorking collaboratively to deliver high-quality consultancy servicesOur clients are based across England and Wales, and occasional travel (including overnight stays) may be required.About YouThis role may be offered at trainee or account handler level, depending on experience.We welcome applications from candidates with:Experience in UK general (non-life) insurance, or a strong interest in developing a career in the sectorIdeally 12 years experience in commercial property, liability, or construction insurance (desirable, not essential for trainee applicants)Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Word and ExcelProgress towards CII qualifications (preferred), with support availableExcellent communication and organisational skillsAbility to travel to client sites as required (a full UK driving licence is advantageous)Salary & BenefitsCompetitive salary, expected to be in the region of 32,500 depending on experience and level of appointment, with scope to reflect exceptional candidatesBenefits package, including support towards professional qualificationsHow to ApplyPlease submit a tailored CV and a covering letter (max. 500 words) to:[email protected] date: 8th May 2026 (13:00)We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if sufficient applications are received.Applicants must have the right to work in the UK.Additional InformationGibbs Laidler Consulting is an equal opportunities employer.
