Construction Manager

Job Title: Construction Manager Location: Seascale, Cumbria About the Opportunity: NRL is seeking an experienced Construction Manager for a 12-month IR35 contract with a respected client. This role offers the chance to support a major project within a highly regulated environment, contributing to safe, efficient, and high-quality construction delivery. What Youll Be Doing: Provide construction expertise during constructability, HAZOP/HAZCON, and early planning activities. Deliver construction work scopes aligned with project strategy, meeting cost and schedule targets without compromising safety or quality. Lead risk management activities and embed outputs into construction plans. Conduct readiness reviews ensuring resources, procurement, and equipment are in place. Promote nuclear safety and maintain high standards on-site. Manage quality through all construction phases and support timely completion. Prepare, review, and approve key construction documents. Ensure compliance with TDA Process 33 and CDM requirements. Coordinate daily with PM/PE teams to minimise programme risk. Track and report NPT to support programme assurance. Develop SQEP personnel and oversee subcontractor activities. Lead and mentor the construction team to drive efficient project delivery. Accept, reject, or implement corrective actions on construction work. Manage pre-construction information to ensure task and CDM compliance. What Youll Need: NVQ Level 6 Construction Management qualification. IOSH Managing Safely. Manager CSCS (Health & Safety) card. Relevant professional qualification. Ability to obtain or hold SC clearance and monitored worker status. Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Experience in regulated environments, ideally nuclear, with solid knowledge of CDM, risk management, and construction planning.
