Senior Project Manager

VGC Group are proud to be supporting a client, one of the UK's leading construction and infrastructure contractors, who are playing a pivotal role in the upgrade of the UK's power grid. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager who can lead the planning, management and delivery of a major Overhead Line (OHL) upgrade project in the North of Scotland. This role is an opportunity to play an integral role in the upgrade of the UK's power grid for generations to come, and gives the chance to gain exposure at the front end of the UK and global efforts to decarbonise electrical infrastructure to meet Net Zero targets.This role requires flexibility to work in demanding environments and the ability to spend extended periods away from home in support of project delivery.The role will give you the opportunity to:Lead the delivery of overhead line projects, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and environmental performance.Manage and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to drive effective collaboration and strong results.Develop and execute project plans from initiation through completion, covering scheduling, resource management, and risk control.Ensure full compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.Oversee project financials, monitoring costs, and maintaining budgetary control.Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment and successful outcomes.Promote innovation, efficiency, and continuous improvement throughout the project lifecycle.Support team growth by mentoring and developing emerging talent within the organisation.The ideal person will have:Experience of delivering Power Transmission & Distribution projects, particularly OHL infrastructure.Confidence in managing the commercial performance of major projects with values over £100m.Strong project and people management skills and the ability to lead diverse project teams.Strong stakeholder management and client relationship management skills.Knowledge of HSQE regulations within the power T&D sector.On offer is:Salary up to £100k.Bonus.Travel and accommodation allowances.Company vehicle.Leading benefits package.
