This is a fulltime, hybrid role based in Sawbridgeworth, offering flexibility to work from home parttime.The Account Executive will be responsible for managing and developing a portfolio of commercial insurance clients, providing expert advice and delivering tailored insurance solutions aligned to each clients needs. The role combines client relationship management, new business development, and strategic market placement, with responsibility for renewals, insurer negotiations, and overall client satisfaction.Key ResponsibilitiesClient Relationship & Portfolio ManagementManage and develop a portfolio of commercial insurance clientsBuild and maintain strong, longterm client relationshipsAct as a trusted advisor, providing informed and professional risk adviceEnsure insurance programmes remain aligned to client needs and objectivesBusiness DevelopmentIdentify and pursue new business opportunities within target marketsGenerate and manage new client relationships through networking and referralsSupport the continued growth of the business through proactive client engagementPlacing, Renewals & Insurer NegotiationLead the renewal and placement of commercial insurance programmesNegotiate terms, conditions, and premiums with insurers and underwritersPlace a range of commercial risks, including complex and specialist exposuresEnsure competitive and appropriate cover solutions are securedService & DeliveryDeliver consistently high standards of customer serviceWork closely with internal support teams to ensure efficient policy administrationMaintain accurate client records and ensure compliance with regulatory standardsQualifications, Skills & ExperienceEssentialStrong experience in commercial insurance account managementProven ability to build and manage client relationshipsDemonstrable sales capability, with experience identifying and converting new business opportunitiesComprehensive understanding of UK commercial insurance principles and practicesProven experience placing: Commercial CombinedLiabilityComplex PropertyDirectors & Officers (D&O)Professional IndemnityExcellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skillsSelfmotivated, targetdriven, and comfortable working in a hybrid environmentProfessional insurance qualifications (e.g. ACII )Personal AttributesCommercially focused and results drivenClientcentric with a consultative approachConfident, professional, and credible when dealing with senior stakeholdersOrganised, proactive, and able to manage competing prioritiesComfortable operating in a specialist, growthfocused brokerage environmentWhy Join MWA Special RisksOpportunity to work with highprofile and highnetworth clientsExposure to complex and specialist property risksSupportive, boutique environment with strong market accessHybrid working and a culture focused on quality, relationships, and longterm growthSalary & BenefitsSalaryCompetitive salary, commensurate with experience, qualifications, and portfolio sizeCommission packageBenefitsHybrid working model, with 23 days per week in the Sawbridgeworth office25 days annual leave plus bank holidaysNest pension scheme with employer contributionsProfessional development support, including continued qualification supportOpportunity to work with highprofile clients and complex, nonstandard risksAccess to a broad insurer panel via Willis Towers Watson NetworksSupportive boutique environment with strong career development potential
