Job Description Office Facilities & Maintenance AssistantA fantastic opportunity for an Office Facilities & Maintenance Assistant to join a fast-growing technology company based near Cambridge. As the business continues to scale, they are looking for a reliable and hands-on individual to support the smooth day-to-day running of their office environment. This is a varied, practical role suited to someone who enjoys keeping things organised and operating efficiently while supporting a busy and collaborative team. Due to the nature of the business and their clients, you must be in a position to qualify for UK security clearance.Location: Saffron Walden, Essex office based, 5 days per weekSalary: 30,000 per annum + benefitsRequirements for Office Facilities & Maintenance Assistant:Practical and hands-on approach with the confidence to carry out minor maintenance tasksStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritiesComfortable working independently and proactively identifying issues that need resolvingBasic DIY capability including minor electrical, plumbing or furniture assembly tasksStrong communication skills when liaising with colleagues, suppliers and contractorsFull UK driving licenceComfortable working in a varied role that may involve physical tasksExperience in a facilities, maintenance or operational support role is beneficialFamiliarity with health and safety practices is helpfulKnowledge of basic building systems such as heating, plumbing or electrical infrastructure would be advantageousPrevious experience working in a fast-paced or scaling business environment would be beneficialBasic IT proficiency including Microsoft Office Due to the nature of the business, you must be in a position to qualify for UK Security ClearanceResponsibilities for Office Facilities & Maintenance Assistant:Carry out minor office repairs such as changing bulbs, adjusting furniture or resolving small maintenance issuesMonitor the condition of office facilities and report larger maintenance issues to external contractors when requiredPerform regular checks on key office infrastructure such as heating, cooling and plumbing systemsMaintain office supply inventory and ensure essential stock levels are monitored and replenishedSupport office waste management and recycling processesCoordinate with cleaning providers and ensure cleaning schedules are maintainedAssist with health and safety processes including basic risk assessments and safety checksHelp ensure fire safety equipment and related systems are regularly checked and maintainedAct as a point of contact for general facilities or maintenance queries within the officeCoordinate with service providers and suppliers, including arranging maintenance visits and obtaining quotesSupport the management of service contracts and ensure associated documentation remains organisedReceive and organise deliveries of equipment and office suppliesAssist with meeting room setup and preparation for internal events or team activitiesOccasionally support local errands such as collecting supplies or delivering equipmentAssist with office moves, layout changes or refurbishment projects when requiredSupport onboarding processes by preparing workspaces and equipment for new team membersProvide general administrative support to the operations team when neededSupport the upkeep of company vehicles including servicing coordination, fuel and general maintenance oversightWhat the role offers:Opportunity to join a fast-growing technology company during an exciting period of growthA varied and hands-on role supporting the day-to-day operations of a busy office environmentThe chance to work within a collaborative and supportive teamA role that may grow in responsibility as the company continues to expandApplications:If you would like to apply for this Office Facilities & Maintenance Assistant role, please send your CV via the relevant links.
