If you enjoy a role where every day brings meaningful interactions and opportunities to make a difference, you'll feel right at home.Your New Role As a Sixth Form Teaching Assistant, you'll play a key role in helping students develop independence, confidence, and effective learning habits. This is a varied and hands-on role that involves academic support, pastoral guidance, and practical help across different learning environments.Your responsibilities will include:Providing tailored one-to-one and small-group academic support to Sixth Form students across a range of subjectsSupporting students during lessons, independent study sessions, and break timesEncouraging positive engagement in learning and supporting students Supporting students in developing social skills, communication, and positive peer interactionsMonitoring student engagement and adapting support strategies in line with individual learning plansGiving students constructive feedback to help build self-esteem and reinforce progressWorking closely with teachers, tutors, and support staff across both sites to implement personalised support plansRecording progress, concerns, and achievements clearly and accurately using the school's systemsProviding regular feedback to the Head of Sixth Form and contributing to review meetings and progress discussionsUpholding safeguarding, behaviour, and wellbeing policies to maintain a safe and positive learning environmentAccompanying students on educational visits and supporting them in navigating new environments confidentlyThis role is ideal for someone who is calm, patient, and passionate about helping young people develop independence and thrive both academically and personally.
