Maintenance EngineerTerm: Full time, PermanentLocation: On siteHours of employment: 08:30 to 16:50, Monday to FridayDescription of the role: Our Maintenance Engineer will maintain, repair, and install equipment such as tanks, agitators, pumps, gearboxes, GEM valves, and water systems (RO, distilled, ozonated). The role includes diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults, pipefitting for stainless steel and plastic piping, and supporting plant modifications and upgrades. The Engineer will ensure high housekeeping standards and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. A background in chemical, pharmaceutical, or industrial process environments is essential, along with strong fault-finding and pipefitting skills. The ability to work both independently and as a team player in a safety-critical environment is key. Required qualifications include an NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and experience with 3-phase electrical systems.Responsibilities:Maintain, repair, and install: Tanks, agitators, and mixing equipment / Pumps, gearboxes, and mechanical drive systems / GEM valves and electric/pneumatic actuators / Water systems: Reverse Osmosis (RO), distilled, and ozonated waterPerform pipefitting for stainless steel and plastic process piping (glued, welded, or threaded)Diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults (3-phase & single-phase)Read and interpret P&IDs and electrical schematicsSupport plant modifications, installations, and upgradesEnsure housekeeping within the engineering department is kept at a high standardEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental standardsRequired Skills & Experience:Background in chemical, pharmaceutical, water treatment, or industrial process environmentsStrong mechanical and electrical fault-finding skillsProven experience with: GEM valves and actuators / RO, distilled, ozonated, and deionised water systems / Pipefitting (plastic, stainless, or air) / Electrical systems (3-phase, single-phase motors, actuators)Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a safety-critical environmentQualifications:NVQ Level 3 / ONC / HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) required17th/18th Edition Wiring Regulations preferredCOMPEX / ATEX training advantageousPipefitting or welding certifications advantageousSalary: 30,000 - 35,000 per annumBenefits:Generous company pensionMinimum 31 days holiday (including bank holidays)Life insuranceEnhanced maternity/paternityFree onsite parkingFriendly place to workLong-term service benefits including extra holidays and private medical insuranceAbout ReAgent Chemical Services LimitedReAgent is a family-owned chemical manufacturer and supplier founded in 1977.
