Job Description Job Title: Purchasing Co-ordinator Location: Rugeley (Hybrid/On-site)Term: 6 Month ContractIR35: INSIDEHourly Rate: DOEKey Skills: Purchasing, Procurement, Excel, MRP, Purchase Orders, EngineeringWe are supporting a leading engineering and manufacturing organisation who are looking to appoint a Purchasing Co-ordinator on an initial 6-month contract. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role where youll play a key part in ensuring materials availability, supplier performance, and smooth day-to-day procurement operations.The RoleAs a Purchasing Co-ordinator, youll support the procurement and supply chain function by managing purchase orders, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring materials are delivered on time to meet production demands.Youll be working closely with internal stakeholders across planning, production, and engineering to maintain continuity of supply and resolve any issues quickly and effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesRaise, manage, and expedite purchase orders in line with MRP/ERP signalsMonitor supplier performance and ensure on-time delivery of materialsLiaise with suppliers to resolve delivery, quality, or pricing issuesMaintain accurate system data (pricing, lead times, supplier info)Support inventory management, including stock accuracy and shortagesWork closely with Planning and Production to align supply with demandAssist with RFQs, supplier selection, and cost control activitiesProvide regular updates on order status and potential risksWhat Were Looking ForPrevious experience in a purchasing, procurement, or supply chain roleStrong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems (e.g. SAP, IFS, Oracle)Experience in an engineering or manufacturing environmentExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloadProactive approach to problem solving and supplier managementGood attention to detail and data accuracyDesirableExperience in a defence, aerospace, or regulated environmentUnderstanding of supply chain risk, expediting, and inventory controlExposure to continuous improvement or lean processesWhats on OfferOpportunity to work with a well-established engineering businessCollaborative and fast-moving environmentImmediate start availableCompetitive day rate (Inside IR35)If youre an experienced Purchasing Co-ordinator who thrives in a dynamic environment and can hit the ground running, wed love to hear from you.
