Manufacturing Operations Manager

A1 Personnel are currently recruiting for a Manufacturing Operations Manager to take charge of the day-to-day running of our client sites in Hereford and Telford, overseeing production, machine operatives, and production staff. Your focus will be on ensuring efficient workflows, meeting production targets, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving ongoing improvements.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all operational activities across both sitesOversee production planning and job schedulingEnsure efficient machine and resource utilisationMaintain high levels of product quality through inspections and process controlDrive and implement continuous improvement initiativesProvide leadership, coaching, and development for production teamsManage HR matters including staffing, training, and performance reviewsEnforce health, safety, and environmental regulationsMonitor machine maintenance schedules and production downtimeSupport other departments and operational needs as requiredOversee site services (pest control, fire safety, waste management, etc.)Essential Skills & Experience:Proven experience in manufacturing or production managementStrong leadership and team management abilitiesConfident in problem-solving and decision-making under pressureKnowledge of quality control and safety regulationsProficiency in MS Office and production planning toolsExcellent communication, organisation, and time management skillsAbility to work across multiple locations and manage site-specific needsDesirable:Background in engineering or machinery operationExperience managing changeovers and maintenance schedulingFamiliarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologiesWhat We OfferCompetitive salary (details provided upon application)Opportunity to lead across two strategic sitesAutonomy to influence operational strategy and deliverySupportive senior leadership teamA positive, team-oriented workplace cultureOngoing professional development opportunities
