Sheet Metal Fabricator

My client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Fine-Limit Sheet Metal Fabricator to join their precision aerospace manufacturing team. This role involves fabricating intricate components from thin aerospace-grade sheet metals, utilising a range of specialist forming and assembly techniques. The ideal candidate will be adept at interpreting detailed engineering drawings, skilled in riveted and brazed assemblies, and committed to maintaining the highest standards of quality and compliance with aerospace industry standards. A meticulous eye for detail and a proactive approach to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role. Responsibilities Fabricate precision aerospace components from thin sheet metals (0.71.6 mm) including titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel, using shears, press brakes, fly presses, and hand/hydraulic forming tools. Interpret and work from detailed aerospace engineering drawings and specifications. Produce assemblies using riveted, brazed, and welded techniques compliant with aerospace industry standards. Conduct inspections for straightness, dimensional accuracy, and finish, maintaining full traceability and quality records. Adhere to AS9100/ISO9001 quality systems and support 5S and continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. Requirements Practical experience working in a regulated aerospace manufacturing setting with materials such as titanium, Inconel, Nimonic, and stainless steel. Strong blueprint reading skills and meticulous attention to detail. Familiarity with aerospace riveting, sealing, and inspection standards, including experience with solid rivets and approved sealants. Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and lean manufacturing principles.
