Job Description Mechanical EstimatorRomford, Essex50,000-70,000 per annum An established and growing M&E contractor is seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join its mechanical estimating team based in Romford. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a well-structured and expanding division, offering clear progression into senior and management-level roles within a supportive and experienced leadership team. Role Overview You will be responsible for pricing mechanical services tenders across a range of sectors, working on projects typically valued between 1m and 20m. The role requires strong technical understanding, commercial awareness, and the ability to produce accurate and competitive tenders. Key ResponsibilitiesPreparation and submission of mechanical tenders from first principlesPricing projects ranging from 1m-20mReviewing drawings, specifications, and tender documentationPreparing detailed take-offs, labour plans, and cost breakdownsLiaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotationsIdentifying risks, value engineering opportunities, and cost savingsSupporting tender adjudications and handover to delivery teamsWorking closely with senior estimators and commercial management Candidate RequirementsProven experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the UK M&E sectorStrong technical knowledge of mechanical building services systemsExperience pricing mid-to-large scale mechanical packagesGood understanding of current market rates and procurement strategiesStrong IT skills, including estimating software and Microsoft Excel Skills & AttributesHigh attention to detail and strong numerical accuracyCommercially astute with a methodical approach to tenderingStrong communication and organisational skillsAbility to work to deadlines in a fast-paced estimating environment Package50,000-70,000 salary, depending on experienceOffice-based role in RomfordClear progression into senior estimating and management positionsSupportive leadership team and long-term career development This role would suit a Mechanical Estimator looking for stability, progression, and the opportunity to work on technically challenging projects within a growing mechanical division.JBRP1_UKTJ
