Mechanical Maintenance Instructor / Workshop Engineer TrainerReady to apply Before you do, make sure to read all the details pertaining to this job in the description below.Salary: 30,000 35,000 (dependant on experience and qualifications)Job Type: Full-time, PermanentAbout the RoleAre you an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, Mechanical Fitter, or Workshop Engineer looking to pass on your skills to the next generation?This is a fantastic opportunity to take your hands-on experience from the shop floor and use it to develop tomorrows engineers.Were looking for someone with solid experience in mechanical maintenance, hand fitting, and workshop engineering - someone who knows the tools, understands how machines run and enjoys helping others learn the trade.You dont need prior teaching experience - full training and support will be provided to help you transition into the role of Engineering Instructor / Assessor.What Youll Be DoingDelivering practical training in Hand Fitting, Mechanical Maintenance, and Workshop Techniques.Demonstrating and assessing skills such as assembly, disassembly, fault finding, machining, and mechanical repair.Guiding learners through Level 2 and Level 3 Engineering programmes (Standards and Performing Engineering Operations).Supporting apprentices in developing the technical and personal skills needed for industry success.Ensuring safe working practices and maintaining workshop discipline and organisation.Using digital systems and e-portfolios to record learner progress (training provided).Helping to maintain and set up workshop machinery, tools, and learning materials.Promoting Equality, Diversity, and Safeguarding within all training environments.What Were Looking ForEssential:Level 3 Engineering Qualification (e.g. Mechanical Maintenance, Fitting, or Machining).Strong background in Mechanical Maintenance, Plant Engineering, or Workshop Fitting.Confident with tools, machinery, and mechanical systems (hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, etc.).A genuine passion for engineering and developing others.Desirable:Level 3 Teaching or Assessing Qualification (e.g. AET, TAQA, or equivalent) or a willingness to work towards it (fully supported).Why Join Us?Competitive salary of 30,000 35,000 DOE.Excellent training and support for those new to teaching.Company pension and wellbeing programme.On-site parking.Employee discount and referral schemes.MondayFriday daytime hours (no shifts, weekends, or callouts)This Could Suit You If Youre Currently Working As:Mechanical Maintenance EngineerMechanical Fitter / Maintenance FitterPlant Engineer / Workshop EngineerMachinist / Toolroom EngineerService Engineer / Field Maintenance Engineer
