Safety and Risk Advisor Contract Type: Permanent Salary : Grade G, 41,771 per annum Location : Joint Police and Fire HQ, Ripley Hours : 37 hours per week, however you may occasionally need to work beyond normal office hours. Agile working arrangements can be discussed with the successful candidate. About the Role: As a category 1 responder, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service (DFRS) is at the core of emergency response. We are looking for someone to review and develop our corporate risk management, business continuity and protective security arrangements. We are looking for an enthusiastic practitioner who will bring with them innovative ways of publicising and promoting our corporate risk, business continuity and protective security strategies to ensure that they are successfully embedded within the Service. Working as an integral part of the Safety and Risk Management Team, you will act as the key contact between DFRS and the National Protective Security Authority. You will be prepared to provide strategic advice at business continuity incidents and advise the strategic leadership team on corporate risk, business continuity and protective security issues. Working with internal departments, you will assist with the drawing up of exercises to test business continuity arrangements for teams and operational crews. Representing DFRS at national and regional meetings and events, you will lead or participate in external and internal projects. You will develop and maintain contact with the Derbyshire Resilience Partnership and other key stakeholders. There will be a requirement for some travel for which a pool car will be provided. Required Qualifications and Experience: To be successful in this role, you will bring the following qualifications and experience: You will be an experienced practitioner with a business/management related degree or demonstrable equivalent experience, and qualifications or experience in risk management and business continuity.
